Dwayne "Pood" Mackey is Pooderbuilt Fabrication. Dwayne received his welding certificate from Bellingham Technical College in 1986. After finishing the course, he went on to weld for local companies when in 1987, Dwayne went to work for Marine Services NW, a local marine repair shop where he worked both on the mechanical and fabrication of fishing and pleasure boats. As Marine Services NW grew and Dwayne developed Pooderbuilt Fabrication as a division of Marines Services, they eventually changed their name to Boondocks Boats and Motors. Dwayne's role in the fabrication department grew as more and more pleasure boaters started to look for custom pieces for their boats. As the marine part grew, an acquaintance heard about Dwayne's meticulous fabrication and brought down a frame to an old Indian motorcycle that he was restoring for repair. Dwayne did such a great job that he told his friend, who was restoring an old Henderson motorcycle, and through these enthusiasts, Dwayne is becoming well known in the motorcycle restoration circles. In 2002, Pooderbuilt Fabrication found a home of its own leaving Boondocks so that Dwayne could focus on developing the right piece for his clients boats, homes and motorcycles.
